Lucas Dickerson is a contemporary artist who recently returned from a two-year excursion to Sasayama, Japan in the Hyogo prefecture. Having hailed from Southern Illinois during his formative years, Lucas tackles issues of culture and identity in his work comparing and contrasting the uniquely different cultures of both countries using a range of methods and materials including collage and mixed media in his paintings. He is currently pursuing an MFA at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
